Region Health Profile
In keeping with national trends for the rural and remote population of Australia, many residents in our Western NSW region experience poorer health outcomes than that the average Australian, including greater incidences of Type 2 Diabetes, obesity, mental health conditions and hypertension. Drivers of ill health include high rates of smoking; overweight or obesity; and insufficient physically activity.
At the ODGP, we design and deliver our programs to address these conditions and risk factors, and improve access to primary health care services; particularly for those living in the smaller towns and communities.
