NSW Outback Division of General Practice (NSWODGP) supports regional capacity to enable a sustainable, culturally safe, accessible and well connected primary health care system tailored to Western NSW.
ODGP’s advocacy is enhanced by the management and treatment of disease in Western NSW communities through:
Supporting improvements in Aboriginal healthcare
- Collaborative and strategic partnerships with Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Organisations
- Delivery of comprehensive and culturally competent care for Aboriginal people of Western NSW
- ODGP is committed to progressing reconciliation and the inclusion of Australia’s First Peoples in our core business
Supporting a stronger health care system in Western NSW communities
- Facilitating integrated quality primary health care systems tailored to the needs of our Western communities
- Developing authentic and strategic partnerships to support the coordination and efficiency of health services
- Providing evidence based best practice programs and initiatives
- Engaging Aboriginal Health Workers to support appropriate and culturally competent service delivery
Supporting local workforce strategies
- Redesigning recruitment and retention strategies in response to workforce shortages and community needs
- Ensuring effective health services via workforce development and visiting programs
- Adopting innovative technical solutions to enable clinical care, such as telehealth services and secure messaging
