Our main priority is the development and delivery of effective primary health care services to some of the most isolated and disadvantaged communities of NSW.
A notice to our Valued Partners, Clients and Communities,
The NSW Outback Division of General Practice (ODGP) has temporarily closed its head office in Bourke and sub-office in Lightning Ridge due to the recommendations from government in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.
All staff are working remotely and from home, and the office phone in Bourke and Lightning Ridge have been diverted to our Corporate team in each of those communities so we are still available to answer your queries and provide advice regarding your care and upcoming appointments.
The Cobar Primary Health Care Centre (CPHCC) remains open and has strict protocols in place regarding appointments and access to the centre. Please call our friendly staff if you have any queries or concerns.
All clinical staff including Speech Pathology, Dietetics, Occupational Therapy and Mental Health Counselling are working from home and undertaking consults via phone or video link in the short term whilst we remain unable to undertake face to face services.
At this stage Podiatry is continuing as a face to face service in those communities in which it is funded however this service is only approved to be undertaken to support those high risk clients requiring urgent intervention and wound care.
On behalf of the Outback Division staff and Board I would like to thank you all for your understanding and cooperation whilst we navigate through these unprecedented times.
I would encourage you all to follow advice and direction from our State and Commonwealth leaders during this time as restrictions are imposed and the situation further evolves.
ODGP works to capitalise on the underlying collective healthcare capacity of General Practice, Primary and Secondary Health care services to strengthen health partnerships with prominent Aboriginal Health Services, Local Health Districts and other health organisations in our region.
ODGP is a leading provider of nursing and allied health services with the Western Primary Health Network (WPHN), working with other Federal and State Government agency investments to deliver better access and improved health outcomes for communities in the outback. Our work will enhance the management and treatment of disease and build greater capacity to protect and promote the health and wellbeing of individuals, and improve the resilience of our communities.
As a not for profit primary health care provider, the ODGP collaborates with other Not-for-Profit (NFP) organisations to achieve greater operational integration, efficiency and program coordination whilst striving toward the ongoing sustainability and growth of health services in rural and remote NSW.
