Our Practice Nurses

The CPHCC practice nurse provides direct patient care in consultation with the GP’s for minor injuries and procedures. The role of the practice nurse also includes performing pre-employment medicals, undertaking health assessments for health screening and working with the client and their GP to develop care plans for clients with chronic diseases such as diabetes or cardiovascular disease.

The role is very varied and rewarding, working in a high functioning team to improve the health outcomes of the Cobar community.

I'm one of the registered nurses at the Cobar Primary Health Care Centre. Whilst I have been at the practice I have undertaken training which then enables me to deliver better care to the patients we see here in our centre. This includes care such as health assessments for different groups of people, care planning and general patient education. SIMON BOURNE

Podiatrist

I graduated from University of Newcastle on the Central Coast in 2013. I've had jobs in both private practices and public clinics, including a position with the High Risk Foot Clinic run out of Gosford Hospital. This role was focused on diabetic foot wounds, and it's an area I continue to have a strong interest in.

Having had a rural upbringing originally, it's great to get out of the big smoke regularly and get some country air and culture into me. I'm revelling in the contrast and variety of work available to me at Cobar Primary Health Care Clinic. I see patients at Cobar both privately and under the publicly funded "Chronic Disease" and "Enhanced Primary Care" programs.
