Philip Sullivan
Phil Sullivan has held the position as an Aboriginal Heritage Officer working with National Parks and Wildlife Service and the Office of Environment and Heritage for over 22 years. He’s charged with repatriating Aboriginal remains back to country, and conservation work, which includes restoring burial sites, protecting rock art, reporting scar trees, and preserving indigenous artefacts. Moreover, he plays a part in the legalities of Aboriginal place names and matters relating to cultural heritage. His restoration work extends beyond tangible historical sites, to the restoration of indigenous voices in the community. Phil has been the past Chair of the Board of Directors governing the Bourke Aboriginal Health Service and a member of the Bourke Aboriginal Community Working Party. He is a Ngempa/Murawarri man from the North West of NSW.
Stuart Gordon
Stuart Gordon has previously been Chief Executive of the NSW Outback Division of General Practice, Far West NSW Medicare Local and more recently the Western Queensland Primary Health Network. He has been actively engaged in the design and configuration of primary health care services in rural and remote settings for more than 25 years. He was General Manager on the Far West Area Health Service managing hospitals and health services in western NSW and also worked overseas for a number of years in hospital management in East Africa. He has served on a number of Ministerial Boards and Advisory committees in NSW and Queensland and is a Fellow of the Australian College of Health Service Executives. He has also been an Regional Manager with the Murdi Paaki Regional Council and for many years supported innovative approaches to Aboriginal Environment Health in Western NSW. Stuart lives with his family in Bourke.
Peter Spence
Peter Spence has previously been the Chief Executive Officer of the Mid North Coast (NSW) Division of General Practice. He has been actively involved in the development and implementation of primary health care services across urban, rural and remote settings for over 20 years; including consulting to National, State and Regional Health NGOs He has worked with GPNSW/ North Sydney and Northern Beaches Medicare Local), Australian General Practice Network, NSW Outback Division of General Practice,, ACTML/Capital Health Network, South Western Sydney PHN, Western Queensland PHN, Bulgar Ngaru Medical Aboriginal Corporation, Mission Australia and Healthwise... He has also worked as merger integration manager for two large financial firms and consultant to both Profit and Not For Profit companies. Peter has served on three NFP Boards and currently serves on the Board (Chair) of GenHealth, a NFP Health organisation (operator of the Coffs Harbour Womens Health Centre, Headspace Coffs Harbour and Headspace Grafton Services).
Bob Davis
Bob Davis has more than 35 years’ experience at Chief Executive Officer/Executive Director level in Aboriginal health in Government and non-Government organisations in NSW and Cape York, Queensland. He was previously the Chief Executive Officer of Cape York Health Council and the Director of Land, Policy and Research at the NSW Aboriginal Land Council prior to being appointed as Chief Executive Officer of Maari Ma Health. He has been a director on many local, state, national and international boards. He is currently the independent Chairperson of the Regional Aboriginal Housing Leadership Assembly and a member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and is a chief investigator on several national research projects with the University of Newcastle including the National Memory Study on Dementia. He is a Dungutti/Biripi man from the north coast of NSW.
Dr Heather Dalgety
Dr Heather Dalgety has worked as a General Practitioner in the North West of NSW for 29 years, including Practicing for 25 years in Bourke (including Bourke Aboriginal Health Service) prior to working in Moree for the past 3 years and 10 months. During this time Heather has worked as a GP VMO Obstetrician (Bourke Hospital and Hunter New England LHD). She has served as a Director on the Board of NSW Outback Division of General Practice for over 25 years. Positions held include Vice President of NSW RDA, State director for ACRRM, part of the NSW Medical Board Area of Need Assessment panel, ACRRM rep on the NSW Aboriginal Perinatal Mortality Project and ministerial appointee on the NSW Health Council. Dr Dalgety has advised successive health councils concerning rural health matters.
